Alberta’s Coal Policy Committee invited Mr. Guy Gilron and Dr. Gord McKenna to submit an independent statement, in addition to attendance at discussions with the Committee on June 9th, 2021, regarding various aspects of selenium management at Rocky Mountain coal mines. Background was provided on areas of expertise, a statements of independence, and potential conflicts of interest. Questions were addressed in detail, and recommendations were offered to the Committee. Some high-level messages were also provided for consideration. A PowerPoint slide deck was used to present this information to the Committee to support the discussions.
