Borealis Environmental Consulting Inc. is proud to welcome Hima Gurupalli as an Intermediate Environmental Scientist.

Hima is a biologist with research experience in cell biology, immunology, microbiology and environmental toxicology. Graduating from the University of Alberta, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Science in 2017 and a Master of Science degree in Physiology, Cell and Developmental Biology in 2020. Her research interests include: water management, environmental impacts of industry, zebrafish aquaculture, and the toxicological effects of chemical substances on aquatic organisms.

Ms. Gurupalli has research experience in the monitoring of the immune system in zebrafish during exposures to various pathogens, the effects of oil sands process-affected water (OSPW) on zebrafish development, and effects of industry on aquatic ecosystems.
