Marine Monitoring  Programs for Dredging and Disposal Activities in Douglas Channel, Northern British Columbia

Boskalis

As part of marine sediment dredging during the expansion of Kitimat Harbour in support of LNG Canada’s port facility in northwestern British Columbia, Boskalis conducted a comprehensive marine environmental program to evaluate residual impacts from dredging activities on oceanography, water and sediment quality, and the health of aquatic biota and their habitats. Borealis provided senior scientific advice, and acted as the program’s Qualified Professional, reviewing all documentation submitted to provincial and federal regulators, on behalf of Boskalis. In addition, Borealis provided contaminated site management advice and expertise.
