Third Party Environmental Auditor, BC Environmental Management Act Permit

Red Chris (Imperial Metals)

Borealis completed a series (i.e., over a 3-year period) of third-party Environmental Management Act (EMA) (BC) permit audits for the Red Chris copper-gold mine in northern British Columbia. This comprised implementation of an 'environmental monitor program' with an aim to ensure full implementation of the terms and conditions of Red Chris' EMA Permit. The program included one site visit per year after the submission of the Annual Environmental Monitoring Report, including the review of the Report and associated environmental monitoring results. Borealis served as the third-party environmental monitor, and reported annually to the Red Chris Monitoring Committee, which comprised Red Chris Mine staff, relevant BC provincial and Tahltan First Nation regulators, and community stakeholders.
